Psalm 139 [Song Illustration]

About two months ago I stumbled across this song while looking for Leeland albums on Spotify-- I was surprised to find it because I had never listened to their latest album. From the very beginning of the song I was captivated by the gentle melody and it inspired me to draw this series of pictures.

Did you know that nothing can make God stop loving you? Sin may get in the way of your relationship with Him, but nothing can separate you from God.

Some people think of salvation as personal "fire insurance" (you know, to keep you from going to Hell? XD). In reality, it's not a one-time deal. It's a constant process. God gave us a gift, and it's our choice to accept it. Doing so is a literal life-changer! He calls us to follow Him, obey His commandments, not because our works will save us but because that's how He knows we love Him. (John 14:23 "And Jesus said, 'Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them make our home with them.'")

Even when we are saved, we still sin, and we need to repent and ask for forgiveness. Not doing so is like rolling in the mud and then walking inside the house and expecting your mom to hug you. You have to be clean first! (Not only that, but she'll ask you not to do it again.) And of course, because we love our Father we are happy to do what He says.

No matter what you do or how you mess up, God will never give up on you. Even when everyone in your life has written you off as a lost cause, He will never abandon you. And if you try to run away, like it says in Psalm 139, there is nowhere you can go where God is not waiting for you with open arms.

He's calling for you. He wants to spend an eternity with you. All you have to do is accept the gift of His love.
